Experience:
October 1994 – Present: Statewide Engineering, Inc. Greg Evans is the owner and President of this licensed engineering firm that was established in the fall of 1994. Design services relate to roadway and traffic design, wastewater collection and treatment, domestic water and fire protection distribution systems, grading and drainage, site planning, hydrology and hydraulics and airport design. We also provide construction management, stormwater management, environmental consulting, project surveying, civil engineering, highway design, domestic water supply design, wastewater collection/treatment design, expert witness consulting. In expert witness consulting, my services include: auto accident analysis; truck accident analysis; pedestrian accident analysis, railroad accident analysis; vehicle hydroplaning; highway construction disputes; residential housing construction/damage issues; commercial/industrial building construction/damage issues; sight triangle analysis; bicycle accident analysis: MUTCD compliance; AASHTO compliance; work zone traffic control analysis; asphalt, concrete and other construction materials; dispute resolution; mediation; expert reports; clear zone analysis; superelevation analysis; deposition; courtroom testimony; powerpoint presentations; scene diagrams; interrogatory experience; arbitration; sight distance analysis; hydrology analysis; pavement marking, striping and signage analysis; accident scene surveying; analysis of construction plans; intersection analysis; environmental violation resolution; document review. October 1992 – April 1994: R. B. Baker Construction Inc. During my engagement with R. B. Baker Construction, I was the Project Engineer on numerous highway construction projects. My responsibilities included coordination of manpower, equipment and materials for a survey crew, pipe crew, embankment construction crews and equipment maintenance crew; scheduling subs; designing, recordkeeping, implementing Total Quality Management Techniques to increase safety, quality of work and productivity; conducting safety meetings, developing pricing for Change Orders, designing erosion and traffic control plans and developing and updating project schedules.
July 1991 – October 1992: Georgia Department of Transportation During my employment with the GDOT I was the department’s Project Engineer on a federally funded project to construct new bridge and highway realignment on U.S. No. 280 at the Ocmulgee River in Wilcox County. I was responsible for interpreting plans, specifications, Special Provisions; performing calculations, measurements and payment for contract items; verifying accuracy of work; calculating earthwork volumes from field cross-section notes; monitoring wetland mitigation site construction; monitoring contractor’s earth fill placement and compaction activities; insuring compliance with Erosion Control Plans; insuring compliance with traffic control; monitoring pile driving activities to ensure minimum pile depth and minimum bearing capacity is achieved; monitoring concrete forming, placement and finishing; monitoring placement of concrete reinforcement. During this engagement I was also the Project Engineer on a federally funded project to widen U.S. No 84 from two to five lanes in Pierce County. My responsibilities included monitoring the installation and construction, coordinating testing with lab personnel; monitoring erosion and traffic control to ensure compliance with plans, and maintaining project records and diaries.
