Dr. Raymond H. Walke passed away Friday, January 20, 2012 after a prolonged illness. We wish to express our condolences to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by those of us who worked with him, and the many people who he has taught and had an influence upon. He led a full, unique, and fruitful life, and the world is truely a greater place due to his contributions and presence here. Raymond Walke began working with Statewide in 2001. His forty plus years of experience brings a broad and varied background in the field of engineering. He is an accomplished lecturer and teacher and reads, writes and speaks several languages. Ray has earned a positive reputation for his ability to evaluate and solve complex problems.
As a team leader/editor Ray successfully planned and managed a complete revision of the US Army/Air Force handbook governing Domestic Wastewater Treatment. He authored and presented to the International Erosion Control Association and Water Environmental Federation Technical Conference, emergency solutions to forestall flooding of infra-structural nerve centers by erecting portable cofferdams well in advance of floods.
Ray’s responsibilities at Statewide are as Senior Project Engineer. He provides the initial recommendations of the design of a project to Statewide’s engineering staff. Ray also provides intermediate plan reviews, answers design questions, and provides final plan and calculations review. Ray’s wide knowledge and experience in environmental and civil engineering projects greatly enhances Statewide’s ability to provide a complete design and problem solving solution to its growing list of clients.
